Meet the Team - Denise Callan_Momentum

What is the name of your organisation, and what do you do?

For more than 20 years, Momentum has been involved in education and innovation in Ireland and across Europe. We collaborate on various projects with over 50 leading higher education and vocational training partners. As practitioners, we focus on the intersection of research, inclusion, diversity innovation, and education to promote best practices in diversity, equality, and inclusion. We take pride in offering high-impact dissemination and quality evaluation services to multiple European projects, recognizing the quality of our work. Our underlying goal is to create a more sustainable and equitable future for all.

Can you present yourself and tell us more about what you do?

I am Denise Callan, a project and communication specialist at Momentum - EU. I am a graduate of both University College Dublin and Maynooth University. Throughout my career, I have worked in Culture, Education and Marketing with the Public Sector and across major National and International brands. My work at Momentum revolves around enabling innovative collaboration between Society, Industry, and Higher Education. I am involved in several projects, including Erasmus+, Knowledge Alliance, and Horizon Europe, ensuring that my work makes a strategic impact in an applied way. In these projects, my roles include Communications and Dissemination lead, Quality Evaluation Lead, and Curriculum Development Lead.

What is your role and your responsibilities in this project?

In this project, I lead Quality Evaluation, collaborated with my colleague Orla Casey on Curriculum development, and supported the Dissemination lead.

Tell us, what is the purpose of the Mosaic Project? What made you want to join this project?

I have run my own business and have a long track record of supporting entrepreneurs, particularly those from non-traditional or underrepresented sections of the community. The project application was submitted before I started working at Momentum, but due to my previous experience, I was assigned the project internally.

What strategies have been put into place to ensure the success of this project? What do you think Mosaic needs to draw attention to that previous projects with a similar aim have not yet achieved?

We must focus on our target audiences, their challenges, and how this project can provide impactful solutions.

What do you hope to achieve through this project?

I hope to create user-friendly tools that offer practical solutions for our target audience. We need to effectively communicate the value of these tools to our audience and ensure that the entire project is delivered at the highest quality possible.
