What is the name of your organisation and what do you do?
The European E-Learning Institute (EUEI) is dedicated to providing high-quality online learning experiences through innovative educational programmes. With a focus on social cohesion, inclusion, and sustainability, EUEI offers courses and resources in various fields, including digital skills, entrepreneurship, and social good. The institute excels in online learning, ensuring that its e-learning solutions are accessible and engaging across multiple sectors. Its expertise in digital pedagogy allows for the application of effective teaching methods in diverse educational settings. Additionally, EUEI specialises in instructional design, creating tailored educational programmes that cater to the needs of different learners, enhancing their overall learning outcomes.
Can you present yourself and tell us more about what you do?
I am Kathy Kelly, the Head of Diversity and Inclusion at the European E-Learning Institute. With a Bachelor's degree in Law and a Master's in Human Rights Law from Queen’s University Belfast, I am deeply passionate about diversity and inclusion. Over the past three years at EUEI, I have worked on numerous projects focused on youth, inclusion, and education. Known for my people skills, I strive to foster inclusivity across all our initiatives.
What is your role and your responsibilities in this project?
Within the MOSAIC project, I will be the lead team member for EUEI. We will be co-leading on WP3 - Investment Readiness Assessment Application and WP4 - Networking Hub, Knowledge Toolbox, and Connector Guide. Leveraging our digital expertise, we will create interactive, engaging, and educational online resources. Through our extensive EU network, we will ensure active engagement and involvement throughout the project, facilitating connections and knowledge sharing to enhance the project's impact and reach.
Tell us, what is the purpose of the Mosaic Project? What made you want to join this project?
It's crucial to recognise that underrepresented entrepreneurs encounter substantial barriers in securing funding across Europe. Our MOSAIC project aims to not only highlight these challenges but also to address them directly by providing valuable resources. We focus on helping entrepreneurs understand their current standing and offering networking opportunities to facilitate easier access to funding within their countries. Our involvement in this project stems from our expertise in entrepreneurship education and our digital proficiency, which enable us to support these underrepresented founders effectively.
What strategies have been put into place to ensure the success of this project? What do you think Mosaic needs to draw attention to that previous projects with a similar aim have not yet achieved?
The success of the MOSAIC project is ensured through a strategic partnership composed of experts in entrepreneurship, funding and investment, and digital pedagogy. We aim to engage underrepresented founders and ensure they understand the opportunities available to them. By providing comprehensive resources and leveraging digital expertise, we support entrepreneurs in overcoming barriers to funding and foster stronger networking avenues.
What do you hope to achieve through this project?
We hope to achieve greater inclusion and support for underrepresented entrepreneurs by providing them with the resources and tools necessary to understand and access funding opportunities. Our goal is to empower these entrepreneurs with the knowledge and networks they need to overcome barriers and succeed in their ventures.
